2021.04.18 - Boat-Shaped Garden Seat II
Today's task for the garden seat is to laminate the second arch corner.
But first I have to see how the first one came out.
The is how it looks after the cramps and plastic has been removed. this is what happens with polyurethane glue if you use too much. The excess sneezes out of the joint and foams like crazy.
The disadvantages of this is that it isa waste of glue and you have to spend time getting all that excess off. the advantage is that you know for sure that the joint has not been starved of glue!
As you can see, it looks a real mess.
But the foam is easily removed using a scrapper.
After twenty minutes the foam has been removed, swept up and the area cleaned up again.
Not all the foam has been removed since all the arch corners will be run through the planer to ensure that the edges of the laminations are all smooth and this will get rid of the remaining glue.
